Last week, Sad Fans Are Sad gave Tennessee fans a little vacation.

This week, after the Vols gave up the most points to Alabama in series history? Sorry, folks, vacation is over. Back to work.

Alabama put up a program-high 58 points against Tennessee Saturday in Neyland Stadium, and it’s obvious the gap isn’t getting any closer between the Tide and Vols.

Check out these fans:

It was time for contemplation in Knoxville:

It’s hard to lose to a rival for a 12th consecutive year with no end in sight:

Our first Surrender Cobra sighting of the week:

This one is being called a Surrender Stefon? I think it’s closer to something we have been badly wanting to break out: The Edvard Munch. OK, fine, call it the Home Alone if you must. But we’re going with good ol’ Ed:

No. 22 Mississippi State also met its share of disappointment in Death Valley. Losing to LSU is one thing, but the Bulldogs managed only three points:

See, this is a proper Surrender Stefon:

And their rivals in Oxford were not having any fun, either, losing at home to Auburn:

Meanwhile, the biggest upset of the day was in West Lafayette, Ind., as Purdue blew out No. 2 Ohio State. Urban Meyer does a mediocre Surrender Cobra (I am a Cobra purist and you can’t stop me), but then again the Buckeyes didn’t do anything else right, either:

The Twitterverse reacted with much glee at Ohio State’s inept performance. And Meyer still can’t get Surrender Cobra right:

Yep, Buckeyes fans were pretty glum:

Michigan State fans had a bad time as well, dropping a heated game against archrival Michigan:

Things got even worse for Spartans fans because talented receiver Felton Davis III is lost for the season with an Achilles injury:

North Carolina State’s unbeaten run came down hard at Clemson:

Finally, a tip of the cap to Washington State, where the Cougars topped Oregon — but perhaps more importantly, ESPN’s College GameDay stopped in Pullman for the first time ever. The show traveled to meet Wazzu’s Ol’ Crimson flag at last, after the flag made it to every GameDay stop for 15 years:

You have to love college football.
