The SEC released its Week 1 players of the week on Monday with LSU quarterback Joe Burrow and Alabama signal caller Tua Tagovailoa leading the way.

Burrow tied a school record with five touchdowns passes in LSU’s 55-3 victory against Georgia Southern. He went 23 of 27 with 278 yards and threw all five of his touchdowns in the first half.

Tagovailoa wasn’t shabby himself, posting 336 passing yards on 26 of 31 passing with four touchdowns. At one point, Tagovailoa completed 12 straight passes in Alabama’s 42-3 victory against Duke.

Auburn defensive back Jeremiah Dinson earned the SEC player of the week nod on defense. He posted 13 total tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack. Auburn came back to defeat Oregon, 27-21.

In a 30-6 victory against Vanderbilt, Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made two extra points to earn SEC player of the week for special teams.
