With Week 4 of the 2018 season in the books, the SEC league office has announced the conference’s players of the week, including offensive, defensive, special teams, offensive line, defensive line and an outstanding freshman.

Check out the players from Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina who were honored:

Offensive Player of the Week – Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

  • Sophomore quarterback accounted for 397 yards of total offense and five touchdowns.
  • Completed 73.3 percent of his passes (22 of 28) for a career-best 387 yards, tied for fifth most in school history.
  • He threw for four touchdowns and added one on the ground, tying the school record for single-game touchdown responsibility.
  • Set career highs for completions (22), attempts (30), yards (387) and total touchdowns (5) while equaling highs for passing touchdowns (4).
  • Posted a passer rating of 225.7 against the Aggies and leads the nation with a 230.5 passer rating for the season while ranking second in yards per completion (17.81).
  • 12 of his 22 completions were for 15 or more yards, including TD strikes of 30, 23, and 57 yards with five completions of 25 yards or more
  • Averaged 17.6 yards per completion 12.9 yards per attempt.
  • Rushed for 10 yards on four carries.
  • Went 4 for 6 on third down for 74 yards and three first downs and converted 15 first downs through the air.

Defensive Player of the Week – Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky

  • Totaled six tackles, two tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry in UK’s 28-7 win over Mississippi State.
  • In the fourth quarter, with MSU moving to the UK 25-yard line and threatening to tie the game, he dominated the next series: first down, Allen four-yard tackle for loss; 2nd-and-14, Allen draws holding penalty on pass rush; 3rd-and-34, false start penalty in front of Allen before play begins.
  • On MSU’s next possession, again with a chance to tie in the fourth quarter, he notched a six-yard quarterback sack, forcing a pass on the next play that UK intercepted.
  • Had a QB hurry on third down in the first quarter, forcing a punt. In the third quarter, on third-and-two, he helped stop the ballcarrier for a one-yard gain, forcing a punt.
  • UK limited MSU to 201 yards total offense, with MSU entering the game averaging 587 yards per game.

Special Teams Player of the Week – Noah Igbinoghene, KR, Auburn

  • Had a 96-yard kickoff return for touchdown in the third quarter against Arkansas, his first of his career.
  • It was the first kickoff return for touchdown by an Auburn player since 2013.
  • Also recorded two tackles and forced a fumble on defense.

Freshman Player of the Week – Dameon Pierce, RB, Florida

  • True freshman Dameon Pierce scored for the second straight game. His 47-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the Gators against Tennessee. Pierce rushed for 63 yards on seven carries.
  • Through four games, Pierce is the Gators’ leading rusher with 228 yards on 21 attempts and averages 10.7 yards per run.

Offensive Line Player of the Week – Jervontius “Bunchy” Stallings, OG, Kentucky

  • Graded at 93 percent in Kentucky’s 28-7 win over Mississippi State.
  • Had four knockdown blocks and 21 blocks at the point of attack.
  • Had no penalties or missed assignments and did not allow a quarterback sack.
  • Helped Benny Snell rush for 165 yards and a school record-tying four touchdown runs.
  • Contributed an effective block on all four of Snell’s touchdown runs.

Co-Defensive Line Player of the Week – Isaiah Buggs, DE, Alabama

  • Buggs recorded a career defensive effort with seven tackles and 3.5 sacks
  • The 3.5 sacks (-14 yards) is the fourth most in a single game in school history.
  • Added two quarterback hurries as the Tide registered seven sacks as a team and 12 quarterback hurries.
  • Named a Defensive Player of the Week by the Alabama coaching staff and led the Crimson Tide in defensive production points.

Co-Defensive Line Player of the Week – Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina

  • Kinlaw had a huge effort in the 37-14 win at Vanderbilt. The junior defensive tackle was a presence in the backfield all day against the Commodores, logging five tackles including 3.0 tackles for loss accounting for 21 yards, a pair of sacks for 18 yards, two forced fumbles, one of which directly led to a touchdown, a pass break up and a pair of quarterback hurries, before missing the final quarter with a toe injury.
  • He earned a spot on the PFF National Team of the Week after receiving a 97.1 grade.
