This is one of the best weeks of the college basketball regular season, as there are a ton of Thanksgiving tournaments going on.

Just look to Maui, where Auburn is set to play No. 1 Duke later Tuesday evening as part of the Maui Invitational. Elsewhere, there’s plenty of quality action too.

It’s a wonderful time, so sit back, watch some basketball (and football games too, I suppose) and appreciate all that the sports world has to offer. With that said, here’s the newest SEC basketball power rankings:

1. Auburn (4-0, Last week: 1)

The Tigers have wins over a ranked Washington team and a tough Xavier squad, and will now face a scary Duke squad (which is ranked No. 1 in the country and thrashed Kentucky earlier this year) on Tuesday evening.

Jared Harper was clutch time and time again against Xavier, coming up with some huge plays in overtime to lead the Tigers to a win. Check out this incredible dunk from the 5-11 point guard:

Even if the Tigers don’t make it to Thanksgiving with a perfect record, they’re at least challenging themselves in nonconference play, and that will make them even tougher to beat during SEC action.

2. Tennessee (3-0, Last week: 2)

The Vols have looked sharp this year, and Grant Williams is playing like a legit SEC Player of the Year candidate (he was the preseason Player of the Year, after all). But he’s also going above and beyond, and even helped change a Tennessee fan’s tire on the way to the football game on Saturday:

This is a fun team, and the Vols should have no trouble with a rebuilding Louisville program on Wednesday night.

3. LSU (4-0, Last week: 4)

It hasn’t always been pretty, but the Tigers keep winning. That victory over Memphis last week was a big one for Will Wade’s program.

Meanwhile, Naz Reid and Tremont Waters continue to be two of the most exciting players in the SEC.

4. Kentucky (3-1, Last week: 3)

The Wildcats are chugging along after getting blown out by Duke on opening night, but they haven’t played anyone of note since then. A 10-point win over VMI on Sunday won’t inspire much hope, but this is still a good team.

There are a few more cupcakes on the schedule before things start picking up again on Dec. 8 against Seton Hall, so expect the Wildcats to pick up a few more wins over the next couple of weeks.

5. Vanderbilt (4-0, Last week: 5)

The Commodores keep racking up wins, and they look like they could be trouble when SEC play starts. Darius Garland continues to be an absolute joy to watch, too. Just look at this range:

A win at USC is still the best victory on their resume, but a Dec. 1 game against N.C. State will provide a better barometer for how the Commodores will fare moving forward.

6. Mississippi State (3-1, Last week: 6)

The Bulldogs continue to fall flat when they play other good teams, and Monday night’s loss to Arizona State proves that. Mississippi State fans got on me last week for ranking this team No. 6 in the SEC, but if anything, they should be lower on this list.

A Dec. 8 game against Clemson will give the Bulldogs a chance to prove themselves again, but for now, Mississippi State is just a mediocre team not playing up to its potential.

7. Arkansas (2-1, Last week: 10)

The Razorbacks picked up an impressive win over a tough Indiana team on Sunday, defending their home court in the narrow 73-72 victory. After battling Texas on the road in a 73-71 loss to start the season, the Hogs have a couple of solid games under their belts.

Star big man Daniel Gafford was a monster against the Hoosiers, scoring 27 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and racking up 3 blocks:

Things lighten up a bit now for Mike Anderson’s squad, so we’ll see if they can continue to pick up some wins.

8. Alabama (4-1, Last week: 7)

A blowout loss to Northeastern won’t help the Tide, but a hard-fought victory over Wichita State gives them a boost.

This team has plenty of talent, so now the struggle will be whether they can put it all together before SEC play starts. Games against UCF and Arizona in the coming weeks will be good tests for Avery Johnson’s squad.

9. Florida (2-1, Last week: 8)

It’s still tough to get a good read on the Gators after they were blown out by Florida State on opening night, but we’ll learn a lot about them Wednesday when they take on Oklahoma.

10. Georgia (3-1, Last week: 11)

Tom Crean sure has made Georgia basketball a lot more fun. The Bulldogs have been exciting on offense and are playing better than many expected.

A game against a tough Clemson team looms large on Tuesday, but even with a loss, this team is heading in the right direction.

11. Mizzou (3-2, Last week: 9)

Like I said last week, without Jontay Porter, Mizzou will be a team that beats up on cupcakes while struggling to score on better squads. The Tigers are now 0-2 against Big 12 teams, with lopsided losses to Iowa State and Kansas State.

It could be a long year for Cuonzo Martin’s squad, as the Tigers just don’t have the firepower or the depth to compete with competent opponents just yet.

12. South Carolina (3-2, Last week: 12)

It’s been an up-and-down start for the Gamecocks, but they haven’t been playing many tough teams. Already, they have losses to Providence and Stony Brook, so this could be a long year for Frank Martin’s crew when SEC play starts.

13. Ole Miss (1-1, Last week: 14)

Somehow, Ole Miss has only played two games. The Rebels have another game on Tuesday night against Nicholls, but the real test comes on Friday, when Ole Miss plays Baylor.

14. Texas A&M (1-3, Last week: 13)

The Aggies lost to No. 3 Gonzaga and Minnesota in their past two games, getting blown out by the Bulldogs and coming up short in a comeback attempt against the Golden Gophers.

This team has shown it has a long way to go, and with a game coming up against Washington on Tuesday night, another loss will likely be the result.
