We’re finally into the full-fledged college football season. Week one is in the books, but every SEC team is back at it again this weekend, except for Georgia.

Which games will be the most interesting within the SEC conference? SDS breaks it down for you.

Eastern Michigan vs Florida (Saturday on SEC Network – 4 p.m. EST)

The lowdown: With last weekend’s game suspended due to weather, this week’s matchup against Eastern Michigan serves as Florida’s season-opener. Once again, the story will be the debut of Kurt Roper’s fast-paced spread offense. Questions of how Jeff Driskel and other offensive players will look in the new offense will finally be answered. The Gators have all the pieces to turn things around in 2014 and Saturday signals the start of the most important season in the Will Muschamp era.

No. 15 Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt (Saturday on ESPN – 4:30 p.m. EST)

The lowdown: As the conference’s only game featuring two SEC teams, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt should be an interesting battle. It’s received significantly less hype after Vanderbilt’s disappointing 37-7 loss against Temple, but it still features some intriguing storylines.

Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace will look to prove the doubters wrong Saturday and show he can eliminate the stupid mistakes that have plagued him in the past. Wallace shouldn’t have too much trouble with the Commodores’ defense, but if he does struggle, you can bet his critics will only get louder. As for Vanderbilt, the ‘Dores clearly have a number of issues, but a week after head coach Derek Mason played three quarterbacks, it’ll be interesting to see who, if anyone, is able to win the job outright this week.

Ole Miss should rout Vanderbilt, but as the lone SEC-only matchup, it’s tough not to put it on this list.

East Carolina vs No. 21 South Carolina (Saturday on ESPNU – 7 p.m. EST)

The lowdown: Fresh off an embarrassing loss to Texas A&M, how South Carolina responds this week will be interesting to see. East Carolina is no Texas A&M, but the Pirates are a very pass-happy team that features one of the nation’s most underrated quarterbacks in Shane Carden.

Carden has thrown for more than 7,200 passing yards in the last two seasons and will certainly be looking to continue to the beatdown the Gamecocks’ defense took against Kenny Hill and the Aggies. All in all, South Carolina is much more talented than ECU and should have no issue in disposing of the Pirates, but the passing attack of ECU against South Carolina’s young defense will be something to watch.

Lamar vs No. 9 Texas A&M (Saturday on SEC Network – 7:30 p.m. EST)

The lowdown: Lamar won’t present the Aggies with any problems, but Saturday marks the first game in the newly renovated and expanded Kyle Field. Aside from the stadium renovations, all eyes will be on sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill, who makes his first start since his record-breaking debut against South Carolina. Another outing with high passing stats will only increase the Kenny Hill hype, but against a week opponent like Lamar, SEC fans should also get their first glimpse at backup quarterback and heralded high school recruit Kyle Allen.
