Since 2007, SEC players have won five Heisman trophies — Tim Tebow in 2007, Mark Ingram in 2009, Cam Newton in 2010, Johnny Manziel in 2012 and Derrick Henry in 2015.

This year, the conference should have some serious Heisman contenders, including several talented quarterbacks.

On Tuesday, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic named the five players from the SEC he thinks could win the Heisman, including four quarterbacks on his list:

South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel was the only non-quarterback on the list, and he gets a boost over a guy like Ole Miss WR AJ Brown because he also returns kicks.

It should be a big year for quarterbacks in the SEC, so we’ll have to see which players separate themselves from the rest of the pack as the season wears on.
