At the dawn of Week 7, midterm grades for SEC teams are beginning to come out, and Peter Burns and Marcus Spears of the SEC Network on “SEC This Morning” were among the first to release them.

By now, most people have an idea of how the SEC is shaping up this year, though there are likely to be plenty of turning points down the stretch.

Florida, for example, after losing to Kentucky, appears to be gaining momentum following a solid win over a top 10 team in LSU. Immediate reactions questioned both Burns and Spears giving A grades to Florida even with the Kentucky loss. Speaking of the Wildcats, Spears gave them an A- despite the Florida win, while he gave Florida an A.

Georgia, meanwhile, got an A and A- which has lost some style points and caused fans some angst as the Bulldogs have had slow starts in multiple games, remains undefeated.

Some of the most disagreements among Burns and Spears came at the bottom of each division where it’s difficult to read the likes of South Carolina, Missouri, Auburn and Ole Miss.

Burns’ top three teams in the West appear to be Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M, but he gave Auburn a C, while Spears handed the Tigers a D, and A&M a B+.
