SEC's NFL Draft history: 66 DL have gone in first round ... and more are on the way
The SEC has had at least one defensive lineman selected in the first round of every NFL Draft since being shut out in 2006.
That streak will continue Thursday night, when Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen and Derek Barnett are expected to hear their name called early. Garrett could go No. 1 overall, something only Jadeveon Clowney has accomplished in conference lore.
With 66 total first-round defensive linemen, the SEC has produced a wealth of NFL stars at the position, from Jack Youngblood and Reggie White to Fletcher Cox and Jevon Kearse, to name just a few.
