Football is almost over.

Both NFL championship games took place yesterday and the SEC was on display in full force.

Here’s a look at the best SEC performances in the AFC and NFC Championship games.

Cam Newton, Carolina: Wow. It’s amazing to watch the former Auburn product morph into one of the best quarterbacks in the game. He showed Sunday that he can thrive on the biggest stage. He had 335 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air. He added 117 rushing yards paired with two more TDs. Newton looks to be unstoppable at the right time.

Von Miller, Denver: He was the MVP of the AFC Championship by far. Miler had 2.5 sacks, 5 tackles a pass deflection and a huge interception early that seemed to rattle Tom Brady.

Dont’a Hightower, New England: The Patriots’ defense played good enough to win. Hightower had a solid game at linebacker with six tackles, one for a loss and a pass deflection.

Patrick Peterson, Arizona: Peterson didn’t have his best game at all. He had a muffed punt return and got burnt on a few long passes. But the LSU standout still had a huge interception that the Cardinals failed to capitalize on. He also had five tackles and a pass deflection.

Thomas Davis, Carolina: The former Georgia Bulldog has been a staple for the Panthers all season. He suffered an arm injury last night that sidelined him, but still recorded six tackles.
