How SEC players performed in Wild Card weekend of the NFL playoffs
While SEC pride will be on the line tonight in the National Championship Game, the league had plenty to brag about during the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend.
Here is a breakdown of major contributors with SEC ties from each game:
HOUSTON TEXANS
- RB Alfred Blue (LSU) — Had 17 carries for 99 yards
- LB Bernardrick McKinney (Mississippi State) — Posted nine tackles
- DB Kareem Jackson (Alabama) — Posted seven tackles
- DB Andre Hal (Vanderbilt) — Posted six tackles
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
- WR Jeremy Maclin (Missouri) — Had three catches for 29 yards before leaving with an ankle injury
- RB Knile Davis (Arkansas) — Returned the game’s opening kick 106 yards for a touchdown
- WR Chris Conley (Georgia) — Hauled in a 9-yard TD pass
- DB Eric Berry (Tennessee) — Posted three tackles and had an interception
- DL Jaye Howard (Florida) — Posted four tackles and a sack
