Prop bets for the SEC’s sixth Saturday:

LEONARD FOURNETTE’S NUMBERS VS. SOUTH CAROLINA

Options — Less than 100 yards; Between 101-199; Between 200-244; More than 244

Projection: Guessing the Heisman front-runner’s rushing total has become a weekly tradition for prop bets. Saturday’s matchup against South Carolina should be much like last week’s outing against Eastern Michigan — dominant. The Gamecocks don’t have the necessary personnel up front to limit such a beast who has the luxury of running behind one of the SEC’s best offensive lines. Tackling and gap control’s been an issue for South Carolina all season and if that lingers at Tiger Stadium, Fournette could seriously challenge the 300-yard mark if the Tigers give it to him enough. Stacking the box is necessary, but watch out — once Fournette breaks free of that initial congestion, he’s gone. More than 244 yards is the play here.

MIZZOU’S PRODUCTION AGAINST FLORIDA

Options — 7 points or less; Between 8 and 14 points; Between 15 and 20 points; More than 20 points

Projection: Last time I checked, the over-under total points in this game was 39, so oddsmakers aren’t expecting many touchdowns to be scored. Mizzou quarterback Drew Lock tossed two touchdown passes and played turnover-free football in his first career start last week, but that came against a South Carolina defense that never established consistent pressure. The Tigers took advantage of soft zone coverage that they won’t see against the Gators. Mizzou’s ability to beat man-to-man on Saturday night will determine its production. During a matchup in which both defensive lines will likely control tempo, a big play or two could decide the outcome. I think the Tigers fall in the 17 to 20-point range, which might be enough to win.

BRANDON ALLEN’S PASSING YARDS AGAINST ALABAMA

Options — Under 200; Between 201-225; Between 226-250; More than 250

Projection: Since the Toledo loss, Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos has scaled back the passing game for the Razorbacks and put less of an emphasis on Brandon Allen. Before last week’s pedestrian 11-of-24 outing at Tennessee, Allen had completed 36 of his previous 46 throws which helped the Arkansas offense find more balance. The Razorbacks will need to establish a similar mix in Tuscaloosa against a team coming off a momentum-building win at Georgia. Dominant on both sides of the ball, Alabama made Georgia starting quarterback Greyson Lambert look like a backup, then intercepted Brice Ramsey for a touchdown on his first throw of the third quarter. Depending on how early this one gets out of hand, Allen numbers could increase if the Razorbacks are forced to play from behind. I’m picking Arkansas to cover however and for the run game to show some production. Under 200 yards passing feels like a lock even in a competitive game.
