After Week 8 did little to change the status quo in the SEC, the league maintained its dominance in the Football Writers Association of America-National Football Foundation Super 16 poll.

No. 1 Alabama retained its ranking and all but one first-place vote, headlining the six SEC teams appearing in the poll. LSU moved up to No. 4 following Ohio State’s stunning loss at Purdue, which sent the Buckeyes plummeting to No. 9.

Georgia and Florida each moved up one spot to No. 7 and No. 10, respectively, following bye weeks. The teams will meet in a pivotal SEC East clash at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

No. 12 Kentucky and No. 16 Texas A&M rounded out the SEC teams in the poll, and Auburn received five votes outside the rankings.
