Ole Miss led the SEC with 62 touchdowns this season. At the bottom of the spectrum, Missouri somehow managed a league-low 16, which explains why the Tigers struggled to a 5-7 record after winning two straight SEC East titles.

In addition to scoring conventional TDs, good teams find ways to score on defense and special teams, which helps explain why Alabama, which had a league-high 8 non-offensive TDs, is representing the SEC in the College Football Playoff for the second consecutive year.

Only one SEC team failed to score a non-offensive touchdown this year. We’ll give you a hint: Its alternate nickname rhymes with “dogs.”

Here is a breakdown of the non-offensive TDs scored by SEC teams in 2015:

Alabama (8): Cyrus Jones and Minkah Fitzpatrick each returned 2 punts for TDs, and the same duo had 2 pick-sixes apiece.
