In nearly every ranking system in the country, Alabama is the No. 1 team, and for good reason.

The Crimson Tide are 7-0 and have been steamrolling opponents all year — a trend that should continue on Saturday afternoon against a struggling Tennessee squad.

Even in a new ranking system, created by Samford University, the Tide hold the No. 1 spot. The system, which is called “Relevance Rankings,” compiled social media data and “analyzed how millions of fans are connected to teams, tapping into billions of interest variables and network connections.”

The full rankings can be found here, but this is where each SEC school stands in the new ranking system:

  • No. 1 — Alabama
  • No. 5 — LSU
  • No. 6 — Georgia
  • No. 7 — Tennessee
  • No. 9 — Auburn
  • No. 11 — South Carolina
  • No. 13 — Texas A&M
  • No. 15 — Florida
  • No. 21 — Arkansas
  • No. 23 — Ole Miss
  • No. 26 — Kentucky
  • No. 28 — Mississippi State
  • No. 42 — Mizzou
  • No. 63 — Vanderbilt

The system used all Power 5 schools, with Army, Navy, Notre Dame, BYU, Houston and Boise State added in.
