On Tuesday, the SEC unveiled all of the schedules for the 2023 college football season. Among the games announced were the cross-divisional opponents for each team.

Alabama is set to play Kentucky, Auburn will meet Vanderbilt, Arkansas will play Florida, LSU is set to play at Missouri, Ole Miss will face Georgia, Mississippi State will meet South Carolina, and Texas A&M travel to Tennessee.

ESPN’s Joe Tessitore broke down the cross-divisional matchups in the 2023 season, and shared what stood out to him.

“The one that stands out to me right away is Texas A&M at Tennessee because you’re going to have that amazing recruiting class that’s now going to be sophomores. You’re going to have the continued development what Josh Heupel at Tennessee with this razor-sharp offense,” Tessitore said. “I think Oct. 14 you’re going to circle that one, that’s going to be absolutely fascinating, plus it’s only the third time they’ve met up here in the SEC.”

There’s also a new twist to the Tennessee and Alabama series, he said.

“Listen we get it every year, third Saturday of October, and you know Bama’s dominance of 15 straight, but again, will Tennessee be in a position to be a threat, we just don’t know, but things are tracking that way,” he said. “I also like the idea of Arkansas going to Florida, where they’ve never won before, they’re 0 and 5 at Florida. But you look at this Arkansas team and you look at what’s happening and bubbling up in Gainesville with the recruiting of Billy Napier and the continued development of Anthony Richardson.”
