A few days after ranking all 14 head coaches in the SEC for 2015, Sporting News has released a more national list.

Writer Matt Hayes ranked all 129 FBS head coaches ahead of this season. Despite spending an inordinate amount of money on head coaches and other staff, the SEC didn’t fare well.

Sporting News ranked just three SEC head coaches among its top 15 nationally and also bumped Ohio State’s Urban Meyer ahead of Alabama’s Nick Saban. South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier (No. 9) and Arkansas’ Bret Bielema (No. 15) also made the prominent portion of the list.
