College football is full of some unique names such as Maryland QB Legend Brumbaugh or BYU RB Squally Canada but the best name may be yet to come.

According to 247Sports, there is a quarterback in the 2021 class named General Booty, and he recently garnered attention when he attended the Coach John Jenkins National Passing Academy in Houston.

An epic name isn’t the only thing the high-school sophomore Booty has going for him, he also comes from athletic pedigree.

“General has a bloodline that you need to follow closely,” Jenkins told Horns247. “His mother is the sister of Joe Ferguson, a long-time NFL quarterback with the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. He (Ferguson) played about 20 years in the NFL. His granddad, John Booty, was one of the highly recruited quarterbacks coming out of America years ago from Shreveport Woodlawn, which is the same school Ferguson and Terry Bradshaw (NFL Hall of Fame class of 1989) went to.”

It’s worth noting that his uncle Josh Booty played for LSU.

Booty played his freshman season at Corona del Mar in Newport Beach, California, and is now attending Cornerstone Christian in San Antonio, Texas. His family is also very involved with the school, as his father Abram will be the Warriors head football coach and grandfather Johnny will serve as the school’s athletic director.

The 6-foot-2 Booty should be a fun recruit to follow, and we will see if he can follow up the impressive generations of Booty’s who have preceded him.
