There are so many bowl games these days that it’s nearly impossible to watch (or care) about them all.

However, SEC fans are frequently treated to some marquee matchups, including regular appearances in the College Football Playoff.

On Friday, The Big Lead projected the post-Christmas bowl games, and had nine SEC squads in the mix. Interestingly, they didn’t project Mississippi State in any of the games, and also skipped the Dec. 27 Independence Bowl for some reason.

Regardless of those apparent oversights, here are where the nine teams are projected to play this bowl season:

  • Texas Bowl: Texas A&M vs. TCU
  • Music City Bowl: Tennessee vs. Minnesota
  • Belk Bowl: Florida vs. North Carolina
  • Liberty Bowl: Missouri vs. Miami
  • Gator Bowl: South Carolina vs. Nebraska
  • Outback Bowl: LSU vs. Michigan
  • Citrus Bowl: Auburn vs. Michigan State
  • Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Oklahoma
  • Cotton Bowl (CFP): Alabama vs. Penn State

The Georgia-Oklahoma Sugar Bowl matchup is definitely an interesting one, as it’s a replay of last year’s thrilling Rose Bowl.

Fall camps have only just begun, so there’s a long way to go before bowl season. Still, this is a fun projection for some of the SEC’s top bowl games.
