The Falcons' first preseason game isn't even at halftime and fans are already sick of OC Steve Sarkisian
The preseason is meaningless when it comes to wins and losses, as nothing counts until the regular season begins.
Coaches in the NFL use the preseason as a way to evaluate their players and choose their 53 best athletes. However, even though the games are meaningless, it doesn’t mean that you can go out there and bomb.
On Friday night, the Atlanta Falcons got off to a horrendously slow start against the New York Jets, failing to rack up a single first down in the first half. With a high-powered offense and plenty of great skill players, blame for the slow start fell on OC Steve Sarkisian.
It’s still early in the preseason, but Falcons fans are already frustrated with the former Alabama assistant. Some of them, as you can see in the tweets below, already want him out:
Sark just called a toss sweep out of the shotgun on 3rd and 3….. pic.twitter.com/Cyy16IWkmH

There is a non zero chance that Atlanta goes into the half with zero first downs. Fire Sark yesterday.

Falcons still with zero first downs. We got weapons on this team, and Steve Sark is gun control

Cannot believe Cutty Sark wasn’t fired last year! We really have to watch these predictable plays being called again all this year too?

Atlanta Falcons offense vanilla so far. Sark has no imagination

Sark is so terrible at calling plays… third and short and you try to get cute….#falcons

Lmaoo. Can we fire sark now we can still save the season
— Falcons 0-1 (@success1st_) August 11, 2018
If we fire Sark tonight we can have three more preseason games to practice they new offense

The Falcons are unlikely to make a change based on one preseason result, but Sark will need to call a better game next week if he wants to take the pressure off himself.
