The Sun Bowl now has one of the most unusual sponsors of any bowl game
The Sun Bowl has a new title sponsor. For the next four years, the game will be officially known as the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.
That news was reported by Brett McMurphy on Tuesday, and the bowl game’s official Twitter account quickly changed to follow suit.
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is new naming rights sponsor of the Sun Bowl. And, before you ask, yes I think it’s greatttt!

The game will still pit ACC teams vs. Pac-12 teams. Last year, Stanford beat Pitt in the contest.
Now, we’ll have to see if Clemson (nickname: Tigers) ever makes it to the game. It doesn’t look likely any time soon, but Reddit CFB’s Twitter account has the all-time Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl dream matchup all sorted out:
The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl features teams from the ACC and Pac-12. Going by name and literally nothing else, a perfect matchup would be the Clemson Tigers and Arizona State Sun Devils. It's technically possible! ?☀️?☀️?☀️
