A bizarre story surfaced on Thursday.

Apparently someone has been trying to get inside information on both Alabama and Auburn.

The teams stayed at the Marriott Marquis hotel in downtown Atlanta during the college football postseason, a 247Sports Auburn Undercover report pointed out.

The Tigers played in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day, while the Crimson Tide played in the College Football Playoff National Championship a week later. Both games were at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Alabama defensive line coach Karl Dunbar had a backpack stolen from a conference room on the Saturday before the national championship game, a FOX 10 in Atlanta report said. The backpack contained a defensive playbook, along with two cell phones, a laptop and cash.

When Auburn stayed at the hotel a week prior, an unidentified person tried to steal a defensive staff member’s laptop from the hotel. The person apparently was stopped before they could run away with the laptop, but did manage to get away without being caught.
