  • Hunter Johnson (Clemson)
  • Jack Sears (uncommitted)
  • Tate Martell (uncommitted)
  • Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama)
  • Sean Clifford (Penn State)

  • Chris Robison (Oklahoma)
  • Myles Brennan (LSU)
  • Tommy Devito (Syracuse)
  • Sam Ehlinger (Texas)

Nike held 15 regional “The Opening” camps around the country from February through May this year. The standout position players at the regional camps earn invites to “The Opening Finals” while the top quarterbacks are given “Elite 11 Finals” invites. Twenty four quarterbacks, including seven SEC pledges and two targets, attended the “Elite 11 Finals” this past weekend in pursuit of an invite to “The Opening Finals.”

The highest-ranked SEC pledge by both Scout (No. 2) and 247Sports (No. 1) was Tagovailoa. 247Sports said the following of the future Tide quarterback’s performance:

Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa shined every time he was on the field this week. The Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis star proved to be extremely accurate during the pro day simulation. Tagovailoa then followed it up with an eye-popping 7-on-7 performance that saw him complete 12 of 13 passes for five touchdowns. His one incompletion was a perfect dime up the seam that his wide receiver dropped which was a certain sixth touchdown. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound lefty is simply a gunslinger.

Fromm was ranked No. 10 by 247Sports and No. 5 by Scout. Brennan was 247Sports’ No. 5 camper, and Scout’s No. 9 participant.

Tagovailoa and Brennan also received individual honors at this weekend’s camp.

Last year’s Elite 11 included the following current SEC quarterbacks:

  • Jacob Eason (Georgia)
  • Feleipe Franks (Florida)
  • Jarrett Guarantano (Tennessee)
  • Brandon McIlwain (South Carolina)
  • Shea Patterson (Ole Miss)
