Tom Izzo asked to make NBA comparison for Zion Williams, names NFL player instead
If Zion Williamson wasn’t such a great basketball player, he’d probably be one of the best football players in the country.
On Sunday, Michigan State will be the latest team to attempt to stop the NCAA Tournament’s top seed, and coach Tom Izzo said there’s not much you can do with a guy like Williamson.
When Izzo was asked to make a comparison for Williamson, he named star Chicago Bears EDGE Khalil Mack, saying he wishes he could borrow Mack to play some defense on Sunday:
When Michigan St. coach Tom Izzo was asked today if there were a player he would compare to Zion Williamson, he replied Khalil Mack.

Tom Izzo on the challenge of defending Zion: "Khalil Mack is a guy I look at and say, 'Geez, if I could borrow somebody from the Bears, maybe we could cover him.' He's an incredible athlete. … He's not Superman, but he's damn close."

As good as Williamson is, though, Duke has had each of its last two games come down to the last shot, so the Blue Devils are not invincible.
