There are multiple members of the Class of 2016 who will have the opportunity to make an instant impact on their Southeastern Conference football program of choice sooner rather than later.

Here are the top 10 anticipated mid-academic year enrollees from around the league.

1. Jacob Eason, QB, Georgia (Lake Stevens, Wash. HS)

The nation’s top pro-style quarterback will have the chance to compete for the Bulldogs starting job and has the talent to win it. Will the ushering in of the Kirby Smart era coincide with the Eason era in Athens?

2. John Franklin, QB, Auburn (East Mississippi JC)

Gus Malzahn has had two first-year junior college quarterbacks at Auburn (Cam Newton when Malzahn was the offensive coordinator in 2010 and Nick Marshall in 2013). Both times the Tigers played for the national championship. Will lighting strike thrice?

3. Mark Thompson, RB, Florida (Dodge City, Kan. JC)

The Gators have been gutted in terms of difference-makers at the important skill positions on offense and the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Thompson arrives from junior college just in time to make a difference right away.

4. Brandon McIlwain, QB, South Carolina (Newtown, Pa., Council Rock North HS)

As is the case with Eason and Smart at Georgia, McIlwain’s reign as the starting quarterback in Columbia could coincide with the start of the Will Muschamp era. The Pennsylvania product has advanced ability and is considered the odds-on favorite to win the starting job this spring.

5. Tate Leavitt, OT, Kentucky (Hutchinson, Kan., JC)

The junior college star has the opportunity to step in right away and earn a starting job at offensive tackle for the Wildcats. His presence is good news for new offensive coordinator Eddie Gran, who will attempt to get Kentucky moving in the right direction on that side of the ball.

6. Paul James, DE, Auburn (Copiah-Lincoln, Miss. JC)

James, a Miami native, was one of the better junior college defensive ends in the country and with current Tigers defensive end Carl Lawson contemplating a jump to the NFL, James’ presence is welcomed and appreciated.

7. Freddie Swain, WR, Florida (Citra, Fla.. North Marion HS)

The Gators continue to have a need to stockpile wide receivers and Swain, from nearby North Marion High, has the skill set to step in and make an instant impact. Learning the offense this spring will be critical for the talented wide out to maximize his first season in Gainesville.

8. Charles Baldwin, OT, Alabama (ASA College, N.Y., JC)

The nation’s No. 1 junior college offensive tackle prospect gets a jump start on his development and the Crimson Tide is expected to have spots open up front. While sometimes it takes a year to adjust at his position, Baldwin will have the opportunity to win a job.

9. Marquill Osborne, CB, Tennessee (Cornelius, N.C., Hough HS)

Osborne has a shot at coming in and earning a position on the two-deep, particularly if standout Vols cornerback Cameron Sutton heads to the NFL. He has the raw skill set to do it and under Butch Jones, Tennessee has had some success with ultra-young defensive backs playing early.

10. Saivion Smith, CB, LSU (Bradenton, Fla., IMG Academy HS)

Smith is one of the highest-rated early enrollees, but the Tigers have stockpiled quite a bit of talent in the secondary. Still, if he can come in and learn the defensive scheme of whoever the new coordinator ends up being, he’s go the physical ability to make things happen in Year 1.
