Will the SEC boast the most draft picks for a record 10th consecutive year in 2016?

Most likely.

Hugh Freeze’s historic 2013 signing class at Ole Miss, ranked inside the Top 10 nationally, was loaded with future NFL talent we’ll have a chance to see in the spring. As many as four players from that group could be taken in the first round of next year’s draft, led by potential No. 1 pick Laremy Tunsil.

The Rebels’ previous high for first-round picks was two in 2009 when offensive tackle Michael Oher and defensive tackle Peria Jerry went to the Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falcons with the No. 23 and No. 24 picks, respectively.

Projecting where these players will go isn’t an exact science, but I’ve taken mock drafts and scouting reports from several of the industry’s leaders — CBS Sports, NFL.com, Walter Football — and compiled it into a comprehensive list of who I consider are the Top 20 prospects in the SEC for the 2016 NFL draft.

Editor’s note: Some of these players are current sophomores who will be draft-eligible — thanks to the NFL’s three-year rule — after the 2015 season. And LSU’s La’el Collins was not included intentionally. Your guess is as good as ours as to what the league is going to do about his situation after going undrafted over the weekend.

1. Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss: College football’s top left tackle in 2015 has cornerstone quarterback protector written all over him, a massive athlete with great feet and mobility for a player his size. The only concern keeping Tunsil out of the Top 10 would be the ankle injury suffered in last season’s Peach Bowl. Sixteen months removed from the devastating fall by the 2016 draft, Tunsil should be even stronger thanks to a work ethic that is reportedly second to none in Oxford.

2. Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Ole Miss

3. Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida: When Hargreaves breezes through the combine with jaw-dropping numbers, he’ll be widely-considered the best player at his position heading into the 2016 draft (if he’s not already). He possesses the perfect blend of traits scouts look for in a premiere coverman — speed, agility, natural athleticism and great hip movement.

4. Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

5. Leonard Floyd, LB, Georgia: Wait until this kid’s unleashed this season on Jeremy Pruitt’s defense. Eligible for this year’s draft as a redshirt sophomore, Floyd returned to Georgia to mend an ailing shoulder and perhaps take a shot at the SEC’s sack lead and defensive player of the year at outside linebacker. He’s got the talent to go in the Top 5, but will need to be more consistent snap-to-snap.

6. Duke Williams, WR, Auburn

7. Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama: Here’s one player whose stock could soar this fall with immense touches as the featured back for the first time in his career for the Crimson Tide. If there’s one running back NFL scouts may rank higher than Henry, it’s Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott, but it’s close. Once he declares, Henry will be the seventh running back under Nick Saban at Alabama to forgo his senior season.

8. A’Shawn Robinson, DL, Alabama

9. Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State: This senior has made tremendous strides as a quarterback since the end of last season following his decision to nix a second to early third-round grade in favor of another go-around in Starkville. Depending on his combine performance, Prescott will likely be the second quarterback taken in 2016 behind Michigan State’s Connor Cook and could slip into the first round if there’s a team in need of a much-improved signal caller in the mid-20s range.

10. Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama

11. O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama: Under-utilized in Tuscaloosa, Howard will become the ideal field-stretcher at the next level, similar to how the New Orleans Saints previously used Jimmy Graham. Howard is a wide receiver with a tight end’s frame, though he doesn’t have the body or physicality of a Rob Gronkowski or Tony Gonzalez. He needs an impact season this fall after becoming lost in Lane Kiffin’s offense last season.

12. Chris Jones, DL, Mississippi State

13. Carl Lawson, DL, Auburn: On course for a monstrous year under Will Muschamp, Lawson’s stock could skyrocket in the Tigers’ new pressure-heavy system with their new defensive coordinator. Lawson’s not as dominant as Dante Fowler, Muschamp’s No. 3 overall draft pick Thursday night from Florida, but he’s pretty darn good if he returns to full strength.

14. Jordan Jenkins, LB, Georgia

15. Taveze Calhoun, CB, Mississippi State: One of several players competing for the SEC’s title of second-best corner behind Hargreaves, Calhoun’s a player who could benefit the most with a strong redshirt junior season and combine outing. He’s a physical playmaker at 6-foot, 185 pounds.

16. Tony Conner, S, Ole Miss

17. Jonathan Williams, RB, Arkansas: One of three Razorback running backs who will likely his name called, Williams is arguably the SEC’s most complete back coming out next season. He’s not going to ‘wow’ scouts like Alabama’s Henry, but his combine numbers should be comparable — if not better — than most at his position.

19. Jalen Mills, S, LSU

19. Marquez North, WR, Tennessee

20. Travin Dural, WR, LSU

Just missed the cut: Pharoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina; Cassanova McKinzy, LB, Auburn; Alex Collins, RB, Arkansas; Kris Frost, LB, Auburn; Kentrell Brothers, LB, Mizzou; Tre’Davious White, DB, LSU; Eddie Jackson, DB, Alabama; Tra Carson, RB, Texas A&M; Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia
