It’s a safe bet, judging from the top five current Southeastern Conference guard/center commits, that Alabama, LSU and Arkansas will continue to be stout in the middle of their offensive lines for the foreseeable future.

Those three SEC West programs account for four of the top five prospects on this list.

1. Donavaughn Campbell, LSU

Campbell is a massive (6-foot-4, 347 pounds) in-state prospect who has been committed to the Tigers since last January. The Ponchatoula (La.) High School standout is the nation’s fourth-ranked offensive guard prospect per 247Sports Composite rankings.

2. Deonte Brown, Alabama

This Under Armour All-American from Austin High in Decatur, Ala., is yet another massive interior trenchman (6-foot-3, 350 pounds) that will fit in nicely for the Crimson Tide. Brown is the nation’s fifth-ranked offensive guard prospect per 247Sports Composite rankings.

3. Drake Jackson, Kentucky

Jackson, a U.S. Army All-American from Woodford County High in Versailles, Ky., is the nation’s No. 2 center prospect per 247Sports Composite rankings and part of one of the SEC’s top offensive line classes. The 6-foot-2, 288-pounder will need to add strength but does a lot of natural things that translate to excellence at the collegiate level.

4. Jake Heinrich, Arkansas

Heinrich, from Urbandale, Iowa, is this recruiting cycle’s out-of-state win for former Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman (who departed for Georgia to join Kirby Smart’s staff). The nation’s No. 12 offensive guard prospect is a Semper Fidelis All-American.

5. Chris Owens, Alabama

The 6-foot-2.5, 315-pound Owens, from Lamar High in Arlington, Texas, is yet another impressive Lone Star state get for the Crimson Tide. The Metroplex star is an Under Armour All-American and the No. 7 offensive guard prospect nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
