SEC teams and fans should be careful not to gloat too much after a big win. Chances are, the losing team will get another opportunity the following year — sometimes at their home stadium.

Part of what makes the SEC’s rivalries so special is that they take place year after year. The history builds on itself.

Here are the 10 best rematches involving SEC teams in 2015.

10. Oklahoma at Tennessee, Sept. 12: Obviously this won’t affect UT’s chances of winning the SEC. But anytime you can beat a marquee non-conference opponent it can only help in terms of confidence and perhaps impressing the College Football Playoff committee. The Vols lost 34-10 in Norman last year. That OU team was quarterback by Trevor Knight, and he is the backup this season.

9. Georgia at Georgia Tech, Nov. 28: Imagine this scenario for the SEC: Georgia is unbeaten entering this game but an upset win by the Jackets ends any hopes of the conference getting two teams in the College Football Playoff. It’s possible both Georgia and Georgia Tech are playing in conference title games two weeks after this. Tech beat the Dawgs, 30-24, in OT in 2014.

8. Missouri at Georgia, Oct. 17: An upset for the Tigers would go a long way toward Missouri three-peating as the SEC East champion. Georgia manhandled Mizzou, 34-0, in Columbia, Mo., last season.

7. LSU at Alabama, Nov. 7: Arguably, this was the SEC’s closest rivalry at one point, but the Tide have won four straight in the series. They had to work for it last year, 20-13 in overtime. Former Tide QB Blake Sims drove Alabama 55 yards in the final 50 seconds of regulation for a tying field goal and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DeAndrew White in OT.

6. Ole Miss at Auburn, Oct. 31: With both these teams having such ridiculously tough schedules, I think you can rule out the loser here from taking the SEC West. Auburn won 35-31 in Oxford last year. That was the game Ole Miss star receiver Laquon Treadwell broke his leg and dislocated his ankle during a goal-line tackle by the Tigers.

5. Arkansas at Alabama, Oct. 10: Lot of people like the Hogs as a sleeper in the SEC West even though they have lost leading rusher Jonathan Williams to a season-ending injury. Arkansas probably should have upset Alabama last year but lost 14-13. A missed extra point in the second quarter proved costly. It was the Tide’s eighth straight win in the series.

4. Georgia at Auburn, Nov. 14: Is this a preview of the SEC Championship Game? It could well be, although a loss may end one team’s quest to play in Atlanta. Auburn’s worst game of 2014 was a 34-7 loss at Georgia. The Dawgs gashed the Tigers for 289 rushing yards.

3. Ole Miss at Alabama, Sept. 19: Think Nick Saban will have his guys fired up to get payback for last year’s only regular-season defeat? The Rebels upset the then-No. 3 Tide, 23-17, in Oxford in one of the school’s biggest victories in years. It ended a 10-game losing streak in the series.

2. Georgia at Tennessee, Oct. 10: The Bulldogs enter this one after a grinder against the Crimson Tide the previous week. I expect the winner of this game to eventually take the SEC East (sorry Missouri). That’s why I have it ranked this high. Georgia beat visiting Tennessee, 35-32, last year as former running back Todd Gurley ran for 208 yards and two TDs. It was Georgia’s fifth straight win in the series.

1. Alabama at Auburn, Nov. 28: This was my No. 2 overall game in the country for this season, so it’s an easy call as the top SEC rematch game. The Tide won 55-44 last year, which got then-Auburn defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson fired. The game set an Iron Bowl record for total yardage as Auburn had 630 and Alabama 539. At least the Tigers don’t have to worry about Tide receiver Amari Cooper this year. Cooper managed 224 receiving yards and three TDs in that game. There’s already an early line on this one: Alabama is a 2.5-point favorite.
