In a battle of developing young quarterbacks, Georgia’s Jacob Eason made one more play than Missouri’s Drew Lock.

The Bulldogs snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, 28-27, with a late touchdown pass from Eason to receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who has developed into Eason’s primary target — he’s a star in the making.

Not a lot went right for the Dawgs in this game. Running back Nick Chubb was held in check more often than not. The defense got carved up by Lock time and again. There were even a couple of special-teams mistakes that took points off the scoreboard. Nevertheless, Eason was the equalizer with his gifted arm.

Despite struggling in all three games, UGA is 3-0 just like Tennessee and Florida. First-year coach Kirby Smart and Co. are sneaky contenders in the SEC East right now, especially with Eason coming of age already.
