SEC Network still wants to see you this fall. And as a result, you could see yourself on SEC Network.

While COVID-19 forced stadiums across college football to host limited capacity crowds or even no fans at all, there’s a new way to show your SEC fandom this fall. You could even score a spot in a commercial without even leaving your home. SEC Network is launching a campaign called #ShowYourSaturday in an effort to engage fans amidst these atypical circumstances.

The goal is to capture the best at-home social content from SEC fans and to use it in commercials that’ll be shown on SEC Network game broadcasts and shows, as well as on the network’s social media accounts.

Got a fan cave with walls of SEC memorabilia? Perfect. Have a pet decked out in team gear? Sweet. Tailgating from the backyard with the family? Boom.

All you have to do when you post those photos/videos on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram is use the hashtag #ShowYourSaturday and tag the SEC Network’s account on whatever platform the post is on.

Starting on Saturday with the “SEC Nation Season Preview” show, you’ll see these 2 15-second promotions (1 for each division) the next 3 weeks to raise awareness for the new #ShowYourSaturday social media campaign.

Here’s the SEC East commercial:

And here’s the West:

After 3 weeks of airing those promotions, there should be more than enough #ShowYourSaturday posts for the SEC Network marketing team to put together the best user-generated content. It could be a 60-second TV spot, or it could be a collage of things based on the type of posts received. In lieu of the customary crowd and tailgate shots, this will essentially serve as the 2020 version of that.

“More so than ever before, we’re confident that we can be a major connection point for fans,” SEC Network marketing manager Will Kindred told SDS. “We want to drive that community and celebrate the fandom all across the SEC because we have this platform that we know our fans rally around and they come to to celebrate, to experience, to witness their teams and everything going on with them.”

You’ll see SEC Network post about the new #ShowYourSaturday campaign next Thursday and Friday, and the individual schools will have their versions of that next Saturday when the SEC kicks off the 2020 football season.

So to recap, how can you end up on SEC Network programming in 2020?

  1. Take a photo/video of how you’re watching your SEC team this fall
  2. Use the hashtag #ShowYourSaturday
  3. Tag the SEC Network account on whatever platform you’re using
  4. Post it to either Twitter, Facebook or Instagram

Simple enough.

If you’ve ever wanted to be on a commercial, now is your chance. Or if you just want to look on your TV and see a reminder that you aren’t the only one rooting for your SEC team, well, #ShowYourSaturday has you covered there, too.

“We hope that this kind of content showing fans at home getting amped up, getting excited when their team scores a touchdown, will be able to take that place,” Kindred said. “Hopefully this will provide that sense of connection.”
