WATCH: Colin Cowherd says CFP shouldn't expand, makes Alabama-Georgia pick
With an all-SEC National Championship Game coming up on Monday, many around the country are now calling for an eight-team College Football Playoff.
However, FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd won’t be one of them, as he says exclusivity is the key to a competitive event.
In the clip below, Cowherd says greatness is rare and should be rewarded, again complimenting the CFP committee for including Alabama:
“Great is rare. Let’s not pretend we need more teams in a playoff.” — @ColinCowherd explains why the #CFBPlayoff shouldn’t expand pic.twitter.com/QHcPaQq5oI

“Four teams deserved to be in,” he said. “They were all there. … This whole thing about Central Florida is dumb. So your whole argument is ‘Central Florida went undefeated. It shouldn’t matter that they didn’t play in a big conference.’
“Great is rare. Let’s not pretend we need nine teams in a Playoff.”
He then goes on to make his pick for Monday’s title game, saying the Crimson Tide will take home another title trophy:
“I thought Alabama would beat Clemson,” he said. “I did think they had a chance to lose to Oklahoma, but they’re not going to lose to Georgia.”
Will Cowherd be proven right? Either way, it should be a fun game to watch.
