As the Texas A&M Aggies prepare to host the No. 2 Clemson Tigers on Saturday night, they’ll have to prepare for two quarterbacks — incumbent starter Kelly Bryant and freshman sensation Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence was the No. 1 player in the 2018 recruiting class, but not everyone thinks that he should be splitting time with Bryant.

In fact, on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Friday morning, College GameDay analyst Desmond Howard joined the show and said he thinks Clemson’s treatment of Bryant has been unfair:

“Kelly Bryant has played a lot of football for Clemson,” he said. “He’s taken them to the College Football Playoff. In my opinion, when you bring in a freshman, and before he steps foot on campus, there’s already talk of him becoming the starter. I just think it’s a slap in the face to the guy who took you to the College Football Playoff a year ago. They need to let the freshman earn the right to even be mentioned in the conversation as the potential starter.”

Both quarterbacks are expected to play on Saturday night in College Station, so the Aggies will have their hands full. See how Clemson handles the playing time for its two quarterbacks at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN.
