WATCH: Mississippi homecoming queen kicks game-winning extra point
A high school senior in Ocean Springs, Mississippi pulled off the ultimate high school dream, times two: Kaylee Foster kicked a game-winning extra point in overtime only after she was crowned homecoming queen before the game.
Ocean Springs High School knocked off George County High School 13-12, the Associated Press reported via local news outlets.
Earlier, Foster kicked two field goals, so she was the star of the night in more ways than one.
Primarily a soccer player, the AP reported that Foster’s been kicking with the football varsity since she was a sophomore. She’s been a member of the homecoming court for four years.
“I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be homecoming queen, but I was pretty sure I was going to make that kick,” she said, according to Gulflive.com.
