Coach Urban Meyer and J.T. Barrett had different reactions to an incident that injured the Ohio State quarterback as he was warming up to enter the Michigan game.

Barrett stood up near a podium in the post-game press conference to explain the incident. As Barrett warmed up near the Ohio State bench and a red cart, someone tried to squeeze past him, but bumped into the quarterback on the way by.

“Someone tried to squeeze through close to our bench, which is fine I don’t really care, as long as you don’t hit me, and he hit me,” Barrett said, courtesy of a video from Reggie Wilson of ABC22/FOX45. “And my knee kind of shifted in, like I said, just twisted up on me and we was able to lock it up before the game.”

Barrett said he didn’t think it was was intentional, and that he hoped it wasn’t that type of rivalry.

Meyer said he looked right before kick off and Barrett was down, and he appeared surprised, and recalled saying, ‘What happened?’

“He’s so tough, he went out there and played, obviously, we didn’t do very well, and then we got going,” Meyer said, courtesy of a video from Cleveland.com.

Barrett later injured his right knee on a run in the third quarter, and watched the rest of the game from the sideline. He finished 3-for-8 passing for 30 yards and a touchdown, with 15 carries for 67 yards and a TD in the 31-20 Ohio State win.

Barrett said after the game that he would play in next week’s Big Ten Championship Game.
