Charles Woodson has done just about everything a football player can hope to do, as the former Michigan and longtime NFL defensive back won (a share of) a college national championship, a Super Bowl and the 1997 Heisman Trophy.

He was one of the greatest defenders in college football history, and for his efforts, he was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 2018 class.

As you can see in the video below, shared by @ESPNNFL on Twitter, NFL Sunday Countdown crew members Sam Ponder and Adam Schefter (a fellow Michigan alum) surprised Woodson with the news:

With Woodson’s resume and the fact that he has a Heisman, it didn’t come as too much of a surprise that he was elected to the CFB Hall of Fame.

Still, it was a special moment on Sunday morning and a well-deserved honor for one of the greatest defensive backs ever to play in college or the NFL.
