WATCH: Texas A&M player ejected for targeting on big hit of Arkansas's Jared Cornelius
It didn’t take long for us to have the first targeting ejection of the day, as Texas A&M’s Travon Fuller earned an early exit in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Arkansas.
It came on the Aggies’ first punt of the day, as Fuller leveled Arkansas punt returner Jared Cornelius before he even had a chance to field the kick.
Though it wasn’t originally flagged as targeting, as you can see below, it only took a quick review to get the call right:

Fuller is only a redshirt freshman, so hopefully he learns from this and isn’t flagged for targeting again in his college career.
No, Cornelius didn’t wave for a fair catch, but Fuller’s hit was still a penalty and still exactly the kind of play the NCAA is trying to cut down on.
