There’s a reason the NCAA discourages fans from rushing the field after big victories and fines schools where it happens.

That reason was on full display on Friday night in Pullman, where Washington State pulled off a big upset win over USC.

As you can see around the 10-second mark in the video below (posted to Facebook after the game), one unlucky Cougars fan got brutally run over by a USC player trying to make his way back to the locker room:

It’s unwise to judge intent in cases like this, as it’s just as likely that the USC player never saw the Wazzu fan as it is that he went out of his way to bowl the person over.

Still, when you’re rushing the field after a huge upset, it’s always wise to keep your head on a swivel and be aware of oncoming players.
