SEC play really kicks into high gear this weekend with a pair of cross-divisional showdowns pitting nationally-ranked competition, but Week 4 also included a couple sellouts that peaked national interest.

Average attendance at SEC games over the weekend didn’t topple Week 3’s levels mainly due to only three contests surpassing the 90,000 mark and only 67,339 showing up for Texas A&M’s neutral-site matchup with Arkansas at AT&T Stadium (78 percent capacity) in Arlington.

Kentucky faced its second straight East Division rival at new Commonwealth Stadium, but saw a 5,000-fan decrease in attendance against Mizzou compared to last week’s Florida game. The Carrier Dome was about 6,000 short of capacity for Syracuse’s game against LSU.

The best environment of the weekend was in The Swamp. One of the SEC’s best rivalries was renewed in front of 90,527, most of which went home happy following Florida’s comeback win over Tennessee. The same could not be said on the Plains at Jordan-Hare Stadium where Auburn’s offense fell flat despite a capacity crowd.

Week 4’s average attendance was 75,506.
