Women's College World Series field set: 2 SEC teams going to Oklahoma City
The 2021 Women’s College World Series field is officially set with two SEC teams among the eight.
Georgia and Alabama are going to Oklahoma City. The Bulldogs will play Oklahoma State in Game 2 of the WCWS, set for 2 p.m. ET Thursday, June 3 on ESPN. Thursday evening, Alabama will face Arizona at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
UGA did not earn a national seed but swept No. 4 seed Florida 2-0 in the Gainesville Super Regional to earn a spot in the WCWS. The Bulldogs are making their fifth appearance in the world series.
No. 3 seed Alabama swept No. 14 seed Kentucky in the Tuscaloosa Super Regional to make the WCWS for the 13th time in program history.
As you can see in the graphic below, the other four teams in the WCWS are Florida State, James Madison, Oklahoma and UCLA.
