Kamron Sandlin became South Carolina’s 8th commitment for the class of 2023 on Saturday.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect isn’t currently ranked by 247Sports Composite Rankings; however, he will be soon. The Anniston, Alabama, native committed to the Gamecocks over offers from Kentucky and Mississippi State, among others.

Sandlin made his commitment known via Twitter.

Sandlin plays quarterback for his high school team; however, he’s slated to play tight end for the Gamecocks. South Carolina offered Sandlin a scholarship in May, and he wasted little time.

Sandlin is ranked as a 3-star quarterback by Rivals.com, and he becomes the Gamecocks second tight end commitment for the recruiting class, joining 3-star Jacksonville native Connor Cox. He will certainly be a big body that Shane Beamer and company can count on on as a pass catcher.
