Calvin Ridley's brother spurns Crimson Tide, commits to Muschamp
Well, this is a Saturday surprise.
Calvin Ridley’s brother Cavin has made his decision on where he plans to play next fall, and Alabama didn’t make the cut.
Instead, he’ll attempt to play outside of the shadow of his star brother by joining Will Muschamp in South Carolina.
TideSports.com’s Andrew Bone chronicled what appears to have blindsided the Alabama faithful:
Surprise commitment. Cavin 'Riley' Ridley announces his commitment after the game to #SouthCarolina. @GCChrisClark

Hearing the Ridley news completely shocked #Alabama. They were very confident this week on Ridley.

And for anyone trying to play the “Alabama decided they didn’t want him” card, well, he had a response for the that, too:
I'm not sure who the reporters or fans are who are saying Ridley was not a take for #Alabama. That is COMPLETELY false. I'll back that 100

A recruit is a take when the entire coaching staff is shocked they didn't get him. People need better sources.

It appears as though the four-star recruit will be enrolling early, meaning this decision is likely final:
Reported yesterday that Ridley was planning on reporting to school Tuesday. #Gamecocks' early enroll report date? Tuesday.
