South Carolina has just added not only a player capable of immediately helping in the secondary but one that has plenty of experience in league play as Nick Harvey has arrived in Columbia.

The graduate transfer from Texas A&M sat out all of the 2017 season after suffering an injury last summer but served as a starter for the Aggies in 2016. Before working his way into the starting lineup in College Station, Harvey consistently saw action during his first two seasons for A&M, too.

Prior to signing with Texas A&M, Harvey was a U.S. Army All-American in 2014 and rated as the nation’s No. 7 cornerback as a high school senior. With the Gamecocks working with new faces all over the secondary, including at nearly every starting position, Harvey has an excellent chance to work his way into the starting lineup by the end of fall camp.

Harvey committed to joining South Carolina over Auburn and Tennessee back in May. However, graduate transfers are not locked into commitments until they actually arrive and show up for class at their new institution. The Gamecocks don’t have to worry about Harvey flipping his commitment, as he recently announced his arrival on Twitter:
