On the first day of the 20201 NFL Draft, Aaron Rodgers dominated the news cycle and at least one prominent parent of a draftee is unhappy.

Joe Horn, a former NFL player and father of former South Carolina Gamecocks standout Jaycee Horn, told ESPN that he is disappointed by the coverage of the 2021 NFL Draft, including his son being selected.

“Let me say this, I’m a huge Aaron Rodgers fan,” Joe Horn told ESPN. “But last night when I saw that he was not happy with Green Bay … when I saw nothing at all was talked about my son, it kind of upset me, and I was disappointed.

“To wake up this morning, I was expecting everybody to be saying, ‘Look, nobody thought Jaycee Horn was going to go top 10. Nobody expected he was going to be the first defensive player off the board.’ I thought it would be given a little more attention, and there was none. It was very disappointing as a father.”

The older Horn further opined that Jaycee was talked about less because many analysts had not predicted him to be the first defender off the board. Jaycee Horn went No. 8 to the Carolina Panthers.

“I understand they didn’t have [Jaycee] being drafted first [among defensive players],” Horn said, per ESPN’s David Newton. “I understand it makes them look bad, but it’s just disappointing. ”

Joe Horn said his son didn’t seem to be bothered.

“Jaycee hasn’t said a word,” Horn said. “He’s happy as ever to be even drafted, but I’ve sat back and heard all the different opinions, and now he doesn’t even get talked about because their pick was wrong.

“I’m saying they don’t even show him celebrating.”
