South Carolina lost its third conference game of the season on Saturday, 26-23 to Texas A&M. It was a hard-fought game, and the Aggies came out on top to get to 5-2 (3-1 SEC) and drop the Gamecocks to 3-3 (2-3 SEC).

South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley was 17 for 35 passing with 223 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception. Bentley’s third touchdown pass came on a 6-yard toss to Deebo Samuel with 48 seconds left to make it a three point game, but it was too little too late.

Bentley had one of his best performances of the season in the loss, and showed some class after the game by waiting for the field to clear out so that he could congratulate the head coach that just beat his team.

Bentley showed some respect for Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher despite the loss, in an empty Williams-Brice Stadium. Bentley will have to wait two weeks to showcase again for the Gamecocks, as they now have two weeks to prepare for a home game against Tennessee in Week 9.
