Staying in the NFC South: Free agent Mike Davis lands two-year deal
Mike Davis is staying in the NFC South.
The former South Carolina star is coming off a career season with the Carolina Panthers after rushing for 642 yards and six touchdowns — both career highs during his NFL career — but with his contract up, the running back has found a new city to call home.
Davis has landed a two-year deal worth $5.5 million from the Atlanta Falcons reports NFL Media’s, Ian Rapoport. A total of $3 million of the deal is fully guaranteed in the first year of the deal.
This will be a homecoming of sorts for Davis, who is from Stone Mountain, Ga., before he left the state to play for the Gamecocks.
During his six seasons in the NFL, Davis has rushed for 1,531 yards and 11 touchdowns and registered 125 catches for 803 yards and three scores.
