One of the recruits in South Carolina’s 2018 class is likely out for the season, according to a tweet from the Charleston Post and Courier’s David R. Shelton.

R.J. Roderick committed to the Gamecocks in June, and while he was his high school team’s quarterback, he’s been recruited at several positions in college, including running back, quarterback and safety.

Roderick is 6-foot-1, 205 pounds and from Summerville, S.C. He is listed as a safety by 247 Sports. He reportedly has 11 offers, mostly from ACC schools.

He was the Gamecocks’ seventh commitment for the 2018 class. Roderick is a 3-star prospect and the 20th-ranked player in South Carolina this year by the 247 Sports Composite.

He was already expected to enroll at South Carolina in January.
