South Carolina now has 11 commitments lined up for 2019 recruiting cycle following the pledge of Florida linebacker Jahmar Brown. Brown made his announcement Thursday evening on Twitter.

The 6-foot, 192-pound Brown is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 44 outside linebacker and the No. 625 overall prospect nationally by 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Gamecocks beat out Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Stanford, among others, for his commitment.

Brown plays for well-known Florida high school power St. Thomas Aquinas in South Florida. The school has produced by FBS prospect over the previous 14 years than any high school in the country.

The Gamecocks already had the nation’s No. 15 recruiting class prior to this commitment and look to be making their presence near the top 10 recruiting classes in the nation with this pickup. With Brown announcing his pledge to the group, the Gamecocks jump Penn State to take over sole possession of the No. 14 spot in the team recruiting rankings for 2019.
