Nick Emmanwori has just four offers, but decided to announce his commitment decision today with a pledge to the Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-3, 208-pound ATH/S out of nearby Irmo, South Carolina is the No. 7 recruit in the Palmetto State, and the No. 37 safety in the Class of 2022, according to 247Sports. He also has offers from Charlotte, Georgia Southern and Richmond. Emmanwori spoke of his relationship with defensive coordinator Clayton White.

“The relationship we built has been a good relationship,” Emmanwori told SportsTalkSC. “He’s been transparent. He’s been keeping up with me real good. He said he sees a lot in me. He can see me playing the nickel position, a little-backer and a big-nickel position type.”

SportsTalkSC also noted that Emmanwori is the 13th new commitment for the Gamecocks. He was one of the private commitments Beamer had tweeted about last month. There are two more of those, and one will announce Saturday, the other on July 5th. Add in the two transfers who will count in the class, and the Gamecocks have 17 of their 25 spots filled.

“I feel like the coaching staff is really amazing,” Emmanwori said after a visit. “What they see in me, what they think they can do with me, if I can do that, it could be great. That’s what’s really important to me, a good coaching staff.”
