Jadeveon Clowney was one of the most-impactful defensive players in South Carolina history, and he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Now, though, he’s off in the NFL, but that won’t stop the Gamecocks from trying another player with his last name.

On Wednesday, the Gamecocks made an offer to Demon Clowney — Jadeveon’s cousin. The younger Clowney announced the offer on Twitter Wednesday night:

Demon already has an offer from Georgia, and holds offers from other big-name schools, so he’ll have plenty of options when it comes time for him to make a decision.

Clowney is a 2020 defensive end, and has yet to be rated by the major recruiting services. It’ll be interesting to see if Demon follows in his cousin’s footsteps or decides to carve his own path in college.
