South Carolina QB Jake Bentley says he regrets emotional sideline outburst during Texas A&M game
South Carolina’s Jake Bentley has had a tumultuous last few weeks.
Some poor stretches of play combined with a knee injury led to a quarterback controversy with Michael Scarnecchia, and though Bentley ultimately held on to the starting job in the team’s most recent game against Texas A&M on Oct. 13, another slow offensive start led to Bentley getting booed by his home crowd.
So when Bentley threw the game-tying touchdown pass and 2-point conversion late in the third quarter against the No. 16 Aggies, he was understandably emotional when he got back to the sideline.

But in a Tuesday interview with the Sports Talk Radio Network, Bentley expressed remorse for his chair-slamming outburst, saying he needs to be more “even-keeled” in the future. You can hear his full response in the tweet below.

It’s safe to assume we won’t see any more sideline antics from Bentley when the Gamecocks (3-3, 2-3 SEC) host Tennessee (3-4, 1-3) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
