Injuries are, sadly, a part of football, and South Carolina suffered its first major injury of the 2018 season on Monday.

According to a release from the school, sophomore WR Chad Terrell has torn his ACL.

Coach Will Muschamp said he hopes to have Terrell ready to play by the time the fall season kicks off, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to work his way back in time:

“It’s an unfortunate situation for Chad, but this is one of the many reasons why we start spring practice so early,” noted Coach Muschamp. “Since the injury occurred so early in the year, we look forward to getting Chad back on the field and helping us this fall.”

Terrell caught three passes for 20 yards last year, but was competing for a bigger role in 2018.

Terrell does have six months to recover, so we’ll have to see if he can make it back to the field before the season ends.
